REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Field Trip – Mendell’s Folly and Van Epps Preserve, Bethany – John Triana and Christin Arnini
REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED!
Join us for a vigorous birding walk 8-11 am at Mendell’s Folly, one of the gems of the Bethany Land Trust’s parcels. The property includes a variety of habitats including streams, wetland, field, upland deciduous and hemlock forest sections with rocky ledges. Expect some steep and rocky areas with rough terrain and uneven and wet footing. Wear appropriate footwear, and tick proof clothing for a field crossing at the end of the walk back to our cars. Bring water. Inclement weather cancels.
Meet at the roadside parking area at the Van Epps Preserve at 390 Beacon Road (route 42) in Bethany. Off road parking behind the gate is also available. The BLT Trails Chairman will be there to greet participants and to help with parking beyond the gate.
Note: parking space is limited to 12-14 cars, so carpooling is advised.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT. The walk is limited to 20 participants and participants will be sent trip confirmation via email.
