Indoor Meeting – Barn Owls and Barn Owl Restoration – Joseph Zbyrowski

Join us for a presentation by local raptor specialist, Joseph Zbyrowski, during which he will emphasize barn owl characteristics, physical features, and behavior. He will also discuss restoration methods to encourage owls to nest and reproduce. Joseph has been working with hawks and owls for more than 30 years. He is a retired teacher of environmental science; master bird-bander; and former raptor rehabilitator and volunteer with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island. He conducts an annual hawk migration count in Rhode Island and is currently involved with Peregrine Falcon and Barn Owl restoration projects.
