Field Trip – Travels Along a ‘Riparian Woodland Corridor’ , River Road, Kent – Craig Repasz

May 8, 2022 @ 7:30 am - 1:00 pm

River Road in Kent along the Housatonic River provides a major north-south riparian corridor for spring migration. The vast uninterrupted forest rising from the river provides ideal habitat and a beautiful walk. River Road has produced a nice variety of Northwestern Connecticut nesting species including Acadian and Least Flycatchers; Yellow-throated and Blue-headed Vireos; Winter Wren; and Cerulean, Golden-winged, and Worm-eating Warblers. We meet in Kent at the old train station at 7:30 a.m.  The train station is several hundred yards north of the intersection of Routes 7 & 341, on Route 7 (Main Street) on the east side of the road.

Leader: Craig Repasz, 203-745-6683 or crepasz@hotmail.com
