Field Trip – Edgewood Park, New Haven – Bill Batsford

Join Bill Batsford for a late winter walk at this urban park with varied habitat including woodlands, fields, streams, and ponds. Wood Duck, Hooded Merganser, Kingfisher, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, and Brown Creeper are all possible. We will make a side trip to Evergreen Cemetery if the Bald Eagles are again nesting there. The walking is easy and flat and includes one dirt path through a wooded area. Total distance is approximately 2.5 miles. Meet at the Edgewood Park parking lot off West Rock Avenue near the tennis courts, just south of Whalley Avenue, New Haven.
